This is a remote position. Travel expectations up to 20% with some overnight stay required.
Salary: $150k-$165/yr + bonus

Director of Product Development – Global Facility Operations:
The Director of Product Development – Global Facility Operations is a strategic role within the Product Development and Global Operations organization at Salute. The individual in this role, will have the opportunity to apply their skills and experience, while working within the data center critical infrastructure, full life cycle service delivery model. You will work with the VP of Product Development – Global Facility Operations and you will collaborate with peers, subordinates, superiors, clients, vendors, and other relevant stakeholders within the global organization to drive and implement consistent product management, subject matter expertise and delivery of global infrastructure programs, standards and best practices.
This role requires a balance of subject matter expertise, innovation, technical writing, cross-functional collaboration, influence, and quality. You must be able to work well under pressure while prioritizing simultaneous initiatives across product lines and services.
Responsibilities:
SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE
- Recognized as a developing Subject Matter Expert (SME) in data center life cycle management of products and services
- Remains current on critical infrastructure trends, standards, and best practices for future product enhancements
- Collaborates internally with various groups involved in the business development and sales pipeline to understand and anticipate prospective client needs and translate those needs into custom product requirements and viable solutions.
- Works with channel partners to create new product offerings and solutions for prospective client engagements
- Works with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to develop Authorized Service Provider (ASP) opportunities for the Salute Product Catalog
- Creates and maintains Product Catalog
- Creates Product Road maps
- Collaborates with Marketing to develop case studies, thought leadership and marketing spotlight campaigns (i.e., LinkedIn, blog posts, etc.)
INNOVATION
- Thinks creatively, identifying and recommending alternate solutions for product effectiveness and efficiency
- Works with PMO, Sales, Finance, Training and regional operations to ensure new products are successfully introduced to the market
- Actively participates in the Innovation Committee to evaluate innovative suggestions that come through that pipeline and translates ideation into customer facing product development where appropriate
QUALITY
- Collaborates and coordinates with multiple internal business groups to ensure the successful delivery of contractual obligations and service level expectations
- Analyzes and/or audits production operations and recommends corrective actions to ensure operational stability
- Continually develop, maintain, and promote the Operational Readiness Playbook as the Subject Matter Expert and product owner
- Monitors, evaluates, and audits product effectiveness against client needs, ability to sell, training requirements, quality, safety, and financial performance.
- Develops and maintains financial tracking and reporting for product performance and field use
- Works with functional teams across the business to ensure compliance with regulatory, insurance, safety, and environmental conformance
- Participates in the organization’s review of all products in the service catalog to determine which products should receive investment, continue as-is, or be sunset
- Identifies, documents and measures performance against KPIs to track product owner performance
- Identifies technical training and certification requirements, works with Workforce Development to enable, implement, and measure success of these programs
- Initiate and establish quality standards for the Data center operational teams and lead those quality initiatives through to deployment

- Oversee and manage the periodic audits of maintenance MOPs, equipment SOPs and Emergency Operator Procedures (EOPs) to ensure quality, accuracy, and conformance with company standards and industry best practice
- Perform periodic audits of site Change Management activity, to ensure accuracy of information and quality of supporting documentation
- Collect and report operating metrics for sites to track and monitor site performance and efficiency
- Provide input for and drive the development of client improvement solutions to include accurate descriptions, savings potential, and cost estimates
- Oversee development of operating standards, processes, and procedures, rules, and regulations
- Review drawings and perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems and facility operational characteristics
Basic Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years of related experience, or 5 years of data center related experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Expertise in the operations of critical MEP infrastructure, including UPS Systems, emergency generators, various critical cooling systems, computer room air handlers, and air conditioners, and electrical distribution
- A comprehensive understanding of critical environment management and the challenges of multi-tenant data center occupancy
- A comprehensive understanding of data center critical infrastructure processes, standards, and best practices
- Technical writing experience and the proven ability to translate complex technical requirements into consumable content
- Travel expectations up to 20% with some overnight stay required.
Preferred Requirements:
- Expert level experience with Document Management Systems, Content Management Systems and / or Adobe document solution products such as AEM or equivalent
- Working knowledge of audit and compliance requirements in hyperscale critical infrastructure environments
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, data analysis, and attention to detail
- Strong verbal, technical writing, and organization skills
- Must be able to multi-task and project manage many tasks simultaneously
- Military experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
- Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
- Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
