Salute are a client-focused business within the critical infrastructure sector, providing a wide range of services, including project management, design, consultancy, client representation, and validation.

We seek an innovative, dedicated engineer within our design function who understands data centre infrastructure and can implement international critical infrastructure trends and technologies.

You will join a dedicated design team with extensive experience in this sector. Your role will be to work with the Electrical design element of the team in developing solutions, defining problems, preparing scopes and tendering information, providing technical support within and external to the business, supporting on-site delivery, demonstration, and handover, conducting audits and surveys, and making decisions for and on behalf of our clients.

Graduates, with some engineering consultancy experience, are highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare technical performance specifications, designs, drawings, equipment schedules and reports.
  • Decide on an approach to fulfilling the customer needs as appropriate.
  • Undertake discrimination, selectivity and cable selection.
  • Design and selection of electrical components and systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Creatively develop performance, quality, tendering and Client documents
  • Developing cost plans and timelines.
  • Carry out tender analysis.
  • Issue and review technical RFI's and design submittals.
  • Carry out auditing of site infrastructure and hardware, SPoF analysis, provide a detailed and comprehensive set of recommendations, condition reports and cost plans.
  • Identifying and addressing problems.
  • Develop concept designs.
  • Witness and supervise commissioning and acceptance tests (IST)
  • Staying up to date with international industry trends
  • Conducting research and applying new knowledge
  • Designing processes and systems
  • Implementing solutions and designs
  • Training other engineering personnel
  • European travel as and when required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or undertaken an Electrical Design served apprenticeship.
  • Developed and prepared designs, client briefs and performance-related documentation
  • Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems
  • Working knowledge of electrical power components and their operation and configuration
  • Working knowledge of LV Electrical circuit arrangements, calculation and selection of protection systems, cables and distribution.
  • Drafting capabilities, hand-drawn and CAD
